BAK at 14th IACA Assembly of Parties
On 4 November 2025, the 14th Assembly of Parties (AoP) of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) took place at Vienna International Centre (VIC). Together with the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA), the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) was also part of the Austrian delegation.
The 14th Assembly of Parties was chaired for the second time by the new Dean of IACA, Professor Slagjana Taseva from North Macedonia, who had taken office on 1 July 2024. Both she and the Chair of the Board of Governors, Mathias Vogl, Head of Section III in the Ministry of the Interior, emphasised the importance of IACA's financial stability in order to continue to play a pioneering role in education, research and capacity building in the field of anti-corruption.
In addition to the adoption of the budget, the agenda also included a panel discussion on âThe impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on corruption risks and law enforcementâ.
BMEIA and BAK both made statements. BAK highlighted its commitment to corruption prevention. The UNODC resolution was also announced, with a request for further support in the informal preliminary negotiations ("informalsâ) on this matter. Reference was also made to the successful joint photo competition project. An exhibition on this topic is planned as part of the UNCAC Conference of the States Parties (CoSP).
Furthermore, a âResolution on General Mattersâ submitted by Austria was adopted.
