Delegation visit from the Czech Republic
On 2 July 2025, BAK welcomed a four-person delegation from the General Inspectorate of the Security Forces (GIBS) from the Czech Republic. The Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) liaison officer also took part in the meeting.
The visit served as a bilateral exchange on the topics of combating corruption, investigation strategies and the structural and legal framework conditions of both organisations. Due to the comparable areas of responsibility, the professional dialogue was intensive and enriching.
The presentation of the work of the Investigation and Complaints Office Allegations of Mistreatment (EBM) formed the focus of the exchange. Both content-related and organisational aspects and challenges were discussed in detail as part of this agenda item.
Potential solution strategies and the implications of the findings of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) were also discussed.
Both BAK and GIBS act as specialised bodies with the aim of promoting and ensuring integrity and transparency within state structures. The delegation visit formed the basis for a constructive transfer of knowledge and the deepening of international cooperation.
