International exchange: IACA study visit at BAK
Strengthening global anti-corruption networking through strategic cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA)
On 23 June 2026, the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) received a delegation from the International Anti-Corruption Academy. As part of a study visit, twelve international experts currently undertaking a master’s degree at IACA visited the BAK to gain insights into Austrian practices in corruption prevention. The delegation was accompanied by three IACA representatives from the Department of Academic Programmes.
Following the official welcome by the Director of BAK, Otto Kerbl, a presentation on the BAK’s international cooperation activities took place. A particular highlight of the programme was the exchange with the Director of BAK, who had completed the master's programme several years ago. Subsequently, Units 2.1 (Prevention) and 2.2 (Education) provided in-depth insights into their respective areas of responsibility and strategies.
An essential part of the visit was the interactive dialogue, during which the students presented their diverse professional backgrounds from various countries and organisations, followed by a joint Q&A session. This visit underlines the importance of international exchange, as strengthening global networking is an essential basis for the development of future joint projects and sustainable international cooperation in the fight against corruption.
