EPAC/EACN at IACA Conference in Rome
In mid-September 2026, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) and the Italian Autorità Nazionale Anticorruzione (ANAC) hosted the European Conference on Anti-Corruption Agency Effectiveness in Rome.
The conference, which took place at Musei Capitolini in Rome, brought together representatives of anti-corruption agencies from across Europe, as well as other international stakeholders in the fight against corruption, to discuss a new research methodology for assessing the effectiveness of anti-corruption agencies.
Several members of European Partners against Corruption (EPAC) and European contact-point network against corruption (EACN), including BAK Head of Department Ernst Schmid in his capacity as EPAC/EACN Vice-President, took an active part in the discussions.
As one of the largest regional anti-corruption networks, EPAC/EACN supports practical research being carried out as part of IACA’s Global Programme on Measuring Corruption and encourages its members to make the best possible use of this initiative. The programme collaborates with international organisations, governments, civil society, the private sector and academia to jointly develop robust, meaningful and useful approaches to measuring corruption.
