Czech Republic Parliamentary Delegation at the BAK

On 31 May 2022, the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) received representatives of the Mandate and Immunities Committee of the Senate of the Czech Republic Parliament. They obtained information on the organisation and structure of the BAK as well as on its prevention and investigation work.

The Czech delegation was in Austria from 31 May to 1 June 2022 in order to visit selected Austrian institutions, including the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption.

The acting Head of Department III/BAK/1, Ernst Schmid, presented the organisation and structure of the BAK and informed about its prevention and education work as well as the international cooperation of the Federal Bureau. In a subsequent discussion, the Senators showed particular interest in the incidence of engagements and the conduct of corruption investigations at the BAK.
