Moldovan and Norwegian delegations visit BAK

On 27 January 2026, a delegation from the Republic of Moldova and a delegation from Norway visited the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) as part of a study visit. The visit focused on the exchange of best of integrity measures, and in particular the Austrian Network of Integrity Officers (Integritätsbeauftragtennetzwerk or IBN).

Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMLV) also participated. On the initiative of National Anticorruption Centre (NAC) from Moldova and Norwegian Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector (CIDS), an international exchange on the topic of integrity promotion and measures with a focus on the public service took place on Tuesday at BAK.

Of particular interest was the Network of Integrity Officers (IBN) initiated by BAK including the different tasks of Integrity Officers; provided was first-hand information on best practices in strategic and operational matters as well as on the concrete impact of IBN. Exchanges aimed to achieve synergy effects and to establish and expand activities in the respective countries.

The visit was made possible by cooperation with BMLV. In addition to representatives of CIDS, Centre for International Stabilisation Measures, Verification and Arms Control (ZSVR) and the Compliance and Whistleblowing Unit of BMLV, Moldovan representatives of National Anticorruption Centre and of National Integrity Authority, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Defence also participated in the event.

More about the Network of Integrity Officers (IBN)

The Network of Integrity Officers (Integritätsbeauftragtennetzwerk or IBN) is a nationwide association of staff from a wide range of organisations that contribute to the proper functioning, transparency and integrity of public administration. The network serves to spread the notion of integrity in Austria and to exchange experience on preventing corruption, promoting integrity, and compliance. The basic prerequisite for admission to the Network of Integrity Officers is participation in the IBN course.
