Czech delegation visits BAK
On 9 April 2026, the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) welcomed a seven-member delegation of the National Centre for the Fight against Organised Crime (NCOZ) from the Czech Republic. The Austrian and Czech liaison officers also attended the meeting.
NCOZ is the central special unit of the Czech police with nationwide jurisdiction over complex proceedings and cases of serious or organised crime. It coordinates investigations with a national and international dimension and works closely with public prosecutors’ offices and foreign law enforcement agencies. During the visit, the current structures and priorities of both organisations were presented to one another.
One of the focal points was the presentation of the BAK’s role in relation to its tasks in the areas of prevention and investigation, as well as the underlying legal mandate. Prevention highlighted the BAK’s wide-ranging activities, such as its responsibility within the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NAKS).
The reception of the high-level delegation is an important step in the intensification of good and effective cooperation with the BAK’s international partner institutions.
