Delegation from Uzbekistan at the BAK

On 5 March 2024, an Uzbek delegation consisting of a representative of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and an employee of the Uzbek Embassy in Vienna visited the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK).

BAK representatives introduced the organisational structure and tasks of the Federal Bureau and provided information on the Austrian National Anti-Corruption Strategy (Nationale Anti-Korruptionsstrategie or NAKS). The NAKS and its implementation were of particular interest, as the Uzbek Anti-Corruption Agency is also planning a national anti-corruption strategy.

The representative of the Uzbek Anti-Corruption Agency provided insights into their organisation, which works exclusively in the field of corruption prevention.
There was an interesting exchange of experiences on tried and tested approaches in corruption prevention work. In conclusion, the delegation from Uzbekistan expressed interest in future cooperation with the BAK.
