Expert exchange on whistleblower protection

On 16 October 2025, a professional online exchange took place between the whistleblower office of the Latvian Anti-Corruption Bureau (KNAB) and the external reporting office of the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK).

Discussions focused not only on the practical implementation of the EU Directive on the protection of whistleblowers, but also on the exchange of best practice examples in dealing with whistleblowers and processing incoming reports.

Both sides emphasised the importance of cross-border dialogue as a fundamental basis for an effective system for the protection of whistleblowers and agreed to continue to foster inter-agency exchange in order to better address current and future challenges.
