Meeting with the FBI Legal Attaché of the US Embassy in Vienna

On 15 February 2023, a meeting with the Legal Attaché of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the US Embassy in Vienna took place at the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK).

In addition to the FBI Legal Attaché, the meeting was also attended by the Head and an FBI Special Agent of the International Corruption Unit from Washington DC and an FBI Special Agent of the FBI Regional International Corruption Unit from Sofia.

By way of introduction, the BAK Director presented the BAK and went into detail not only on its structure, working methods and legal basis, but also on the performance of tasks in the field of security and criminal police cooperation in an international context. The ensuing discussion covered, among other things, the European anti-corruption networks EPAC/EACN as well as the manifold challenges in international investigations.

In addition to getting to know each other, the meeting primarily served to explore possibilities for further cooperation and experience exchange.
