BAK at OECD Global Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum 2025
On 26 and 27 March 2025, the Global Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum (GACIF) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) took place at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris. The Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) was represented by a delegation.
The annual OECD Global Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum brings together experts from politics, business, academia and civil society to discuss innovative approaches to fighting corruption and strengthening integrity. A highlight of the 2025 Forum was the panel discussion "Addressing Strategic Corruption: How to Leverage the Anti-Corruption Toolbox", in which strategic approaches to fighting corruption were presented and discussed, including the role, tasks and successes of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO).
OECD Working Party on Public Integrity and Anti-Corruption (WP-PIAC)
As part of GACIF 2025, BAK also took part in the OECD Working Party on Public Integrity and Anti-Corruption (WP-PIAC), where key findings from the forum were summarised and discussions were held on the next steps to strengthen the international fight against corruption and the promotion of integrity. BAK is actively involved in collecting data for the OECD Public Integrity Indicators, a central instrument for assessing and promoting public integrity worldwide. The results are published in "Integrity Outlook”. The presentation of the next issue of Integrity Outlook, Integrity Outlook 2026, is planned at GACIF in March 2026.
BAK had been invited to present its best practices to the other member states in the plenary session. BAK’s presentation included the Network of Integrity Officers (Integritätsbeauftragtennetzwerk or IBN) and an innovative module for various "Ethics & Values Management" training courses.
European Network for Public Ethics (ENPE) side event
On 27 March 2025, the European Network for Public Ethics (ENPE) held a side meeting to discuss key topics for the future work of the network, including the topic of "Raising Awareness", which focused in particular on prevention measures and education, as well as the creation of a document on best practices of ENPE member states.
The European Network for Public Ethics is currently a network of fifteen authorities from the member states of the European Union. It was founded in June 2022 on the initiative of the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life in France. Its aims are to facilitate regular dialogue between members, promote ethics and transparency in the public sector and raise the profile of these issues in the EU.
BAK's participation in the OECD GACIF 2025 enabled a valuable exchange of experience and a deepening of international cooperation in preventing and combating corruption.
