Bilateral exchange: Austrian BAK and Hungarian NVSZ
From 27 to 28 March 2025, a professional exchange took place between representatives of the Hungarian National Internal Security Agency (NVSZ) and the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) at Nickelsdorf Police Cooperation Centre (PKZ) and on the BAK's premises.
The two-day meeting was attended by the head of the Department for Corruption Prevention of NVSZ as well as other representatives of NVSZ and staff from the BAK's Prevention, Education and International Cooperation Department. The Austrian National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NAKS) and its Hungarian counterpart were presented and discussed. A Hungarian university professor presented the concept of the ‘Police Café’ – an exchange format in which police officers can talk to each other in order to strengthen trust, share experience and openly address topics relating to integrity, everyday life and cooperation.
At one point, the BAK multiplier models ‘Network of Integrity Officers’ (IBN) and ‘Corruption Prevention Officers’ (KPB) took centre stage.
The meeting provided space for keynote speeches, lively discussions, and an intensive exchange of best practices. Representatives of NVSZ and BAK both emphasised the added value of the meeting. The exchange laid the foundation for further joint projects in the area of corruption prevention and integrity promotion and strengthened relationships in the long term.
